Descrição:Chlorobenzene is a colorless liquid that is used primarily as a solvent and in the production of other chemicals. It can be prepared by reacting methyl ethyl chloride with chlorine gas, which forms chloroform as an intermediate product. The x-ray diffraction data for chlorobenzene shows it has a molecular structure, indicating that it is a chiral compound. Chlorobenzene has been shown to inhibit the activity of many enzymes, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which is used in vitro to amplify DNA sequences. Chlorobenzene also inhibits group p2 hydrogen fluoride and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) at high concentrations.
