N-(Chloromethyl)phthalimide is a chemical compound that reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce phthalic anhydride. It is used to make nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and has been shown to have antiangiogenic properties. N-(Chloromethyl)phthalimide has been found to inhibit the growth of various cancer cells, as well as inflammatory diseases. This chemical is also used in analytical methods for determining hydroxyl group and heterocycle content in natural compounds. N-(Chloromethyl)phthalimide can be used on biological samples such as human liver.
