Cyclopentyl-methanesulfonyl chloride is a quinoline derivative that inhibits the activity of influenza virus. It is a sulfide, which has been shown to be effective against influenza A and B viruses in both mouse and human cells. Cyclopentyl-methanesulfonyl chloride has also been shown to be active against other types of virus, including herpes simplex virus type 1, cytomegalovirus, and rotavirus. It may also be used as a potent inhibitor of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Cyclopentyl-methanesulfonyl chloride regulates the nerve cells by blocking the enzyme acetylcholinesterase and it may also have anti-inflammatory properties.
