This drug also has the ability to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines in vitro. 2-Chloro-4-hydroxypyridine also has a tautomeric equilibrium, which can be exploited for its pharmacokinetic properties; it is rapidly converted from one tautomeric form to another in vivo, thereby achieving a rapid blood clearance time.
