Informação sobre produto
2-Chloro-3-iodo-5-nitropyridine is a lead compound that binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the brain. It is a receptor ligand and can be used as a PET imaging agent for studying nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in rat brain. 2-Chloro-3-iodo-5-nitropyridine has also been shown to inhibit the release of acetylcholine from synaptic vesicles, which are involved in synaptic transmission. This chemical has an affinity for membranes and is able to bind to them with high specificity. The emission of positrons from this compound occurs when it is exposed to positron radiation, which can be detected by a PET scanner.
