Z-D-2-cyclohexylglycine is an amino acid that has been synthesized from D-2-cyclohexylglycine and a chiral auxiliary. This molecule has structural analogies to the α,β-unsaturated amino acids. Z-D-2-cyclohexylglycine was used as a catalyst for the palladium-catalyzed cross coupling reaction of different types of secondary amines with aryl bromides. The yields obtained in this reaction are higher than those obtained with other catalysts, including palladium on carbon.
