4'-Carboxybenzo-15-crown 5-Ether is a crown ether that has been used to bind and isolate fatty acids in biological systems. It has been shown to have anti-cancer properties and has also been used as an immobilizing agent for radioactive sodium and potassium ions. 4'-Carboxybenzo-15-crown 5-Ether is a water soluble, colorless compound with a molecular weight of 230.7 g/mol. The crown ether is made up of two benzene rings linked together by one oxygen atom with four sulfur atoms at the corners.
