Descrição:2-Cyanobenzoic acid is a hydrogen-bonding aryl halide. It has immunosuppressive activities and is used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, and metabolic disorders. 2-Cyanobenzoic acid has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the ryanodine receptor, which can be beneficial for congestive heart failure. This drug also enhances the effects of cationic surfactants and is not metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes. 2-Cyanobenzoic acid may cause drug interactions with acidic drugs such as proton pump inhibitors or nitrofurantoin.
