Corosolic acid is a bioactive phytochemical that belongs to the class of natural compounds. Corosolic acid is the active component of Etoac extract, which has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in vivo. It also has anti-atherosclerotic and anti-tumor effects. Corosolic acid induces cell lysis by activating the apoptosis pathway, causing cancer cells to die. The optimum concentration for corosolic acid is 0.1 mM, but it can also be found in concentrations as high as 1 mM.
