Descrição:2-Chloro-5-iodotoluene is an estrogen receptor antagonist that inhibits the activity of estrogen. 2CIT has been shown to be a potent aromatase inhibitor, and can be used for the treatment of endometriosis and breast cancer. 2CIT has been shown to inhibit the production of estrogen by binding to the aromatase enzyme and preventing it from converting testosterone into estrogen in peripheral tissues such as adipose tissue. This drug can also prevent the conversion of androgens into estrogens in target tissues, including breast tissue. As a result, this drug inhibits tumor growth by preventing the formation of new blood vessels needed for tumor growth. 2CIT may also have anti-cancer properties due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis in tumor cells.
