Calcium ditetrafluoroborate is a corrosion inhibitor that is used in the production of polycarboxylic acid and dextrose. It has been shown to be effective as a cross-linking agent for the production of calcium carbonate, which is a mineral with high hardness and low solubility. Calcium ditetrafluoroborate has also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeasts. This compound can be dissolved in an organic solvent or mixed with water to form an inorganic acid. The pH of this solution can be adjusted by adding citric acid or sodium salts.
