3-Chloro-4,5-difluorobenzotrifluoride (3-CFB) is a compound that is used in the synthesis of medicines. It is an organofluorine compound with strong antibacterial properties. 3-CFB can be synthesized by reacting alkali metal fluorides with nitrobenzene and sulfoxides. The reaction product appears as white crystals and has a melting point of -50 degrees Celsius. It can also be obtained from the reaction of chloroform and hydrofluoric acid at temperatures between 0 and 10 degrees Celsius.
