N-(1-Cyanocyclohexyl)-2-fluorobenzamide is an organic compound that belongs to the class of merocyanine dyes. It is used as a stain in histology and for the detection of protonated hemoglobin. N-(1-Cyanocyclohexyl)-2-fluorobenzamide can also be used as a solvent, such as for styrene or other organic solvents. This agent has been shown to have functions such as emulsifying oils, preventing the formation of oil droplets, and stabilizing nonpolar liquids. It is also effective in reducing infarction size in rat models. The chemical structure contains one cyanide group with two fluorine atoms attached to it.
