2-(3-Chlorophenyl)-4-Methylsulfanyl-6-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Pyridine is a photosynthetic compound that functions by protecting plants from the harmful effects of light. This drug binds to the photosystem II antenna complex and reduces photooxidation, which protects plants from herbicide damage. 2-(3-Chlorophenyl)-4-Methylsulfanyl-6-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Pyridine is also used to inhibit the production of chlorophyll, thereby preventing the synthesis of carotenoids, which are important for photoprotection. This drug has been shown to have a triplet state transfer rate that is 2.5 times higher than that of other drugs.
