The reaction yield for this compound is low, which may be due to the presence of a carbonyl group. 3-Phenyl-1-(piperazin-1-yl)prop-2-en-1one has been shown to reduce blood pressure and heart rate in animal studies. This drug also has hypotensive effects and can cause organic solvents to crystallize into stable crystal forms. 3-(Piperazin-1 - yl)prop2en1one is used as an inhibitor of angiotensin II, which is involved in the regulation of blood pressure and other cardiovascular disorders.
