Di(2-thiazolyl)methanone (DTZM) is a heterocyclic compound that has been shown to induce neuronal death, inhibitory properties and peptide binding. DTZM binds to the nitrogen atoms of peptides containing an amide bond and forms a covalent bond with the carbonyl group in the sidechain. DTZM has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against various bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.
