It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of nicotinic acetylcholine and block the formation of an acetylcholine receptor. This inhibition can be reversed by adding a phosphide inhibitor or by changing the reaction time. 2,6-Difluorophenyl isocyanate has been found to exhibit cytotoxicity in cancer cells.
