Descrição:
1,2-Dimethyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde is a carbazole compound that has been synthesized by the reaction of methylacetoacetate with 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl chloride in the presence of lithium diisopropylamide. The compound was found to be regiospecific and trimethylated at C-5 position. The synthesis of 1,2-dimethyl indole 3-carbaldehyde was carried out in good yields under UV irradiation. It has photochemical properties and can be used as a starting material for other carbazole compounds.
