Dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepin-11-one is a synthetic anticancer agent that can react with anticancer drugs to form reactive intermediates. The anticancer activity of dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepin-11-one has been shown in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to their DNA and interfering with the synthesis of RNA and proteins. Dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepin-11-one also binds to the mitochondrial membrane potential and prevents cell growth by preventing the production of ATP. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells that have EGFR mutations or are resistant to chemotherapy.
