4,4-Diethoxybut-1-ene is a triethyl orthoformate that is used in sample preparation and as a synthetic chemical. It is also used to make the aldolase, which is an enzyme involved in glycolysis that catalyzes the conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate into D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and erythrose 4-phosphate.
