It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on diabetic patients and has been used as a drug for the treatment of hypertension. 1,4-Dichloro-2-isocyanatobenzene can be activated by a variety of mechanisms including optical sensors and electrodes. The activation energy for 1,4-dichloro-2-isocyanatobenzene ranges from 10 to 20 kcal/mol, depending on the type of sensor used.
