4-(4,6-Dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)morpholine is a triazine that has been shown to exhibit diffraction properties. It also has a transition temperature of 64°C and a viscosity of 3.7 mPa·s at 25°C. 4-(4,6-Dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)morpholine can be dissolved in solvents such as chloroform and dichloromethane. A chloride ion is incorporated into the molecule during synthesis and this ion is important for the conformation of the molecule. The molecular shape of 4-(4,6-Dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)morpholine changes significantly when it is heated from 25°C to 40°C and this change in conformation leads to an increase in viscosity.
