5,6-Dichloropicolinic acid is a hematophagous insecticide that is used to control mosquitoes and other insects. It is commonly used in devices that are designed to attract, kill, and repel insects. 5,6-Dichloropicolinic acid may be used as a biocidal agent against vector organisms such as mosquitoes, which transmit diseases like malaria. The mosquito larvae are particularly susceptible to the effects of this substance.
