Descrição:1-((Diiodomethyl)sulfonyl)-4-methylbenzene is a preservative that is used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The toxicity of this compound was studied using the cationic surfactant tebuconazole as a probe. 1-((Diiodomethyl)sulfonyl)-4-methylbenzene has been shown to have antimicrobial properties, with biocidal activity against bacteria, fungi, and yeasts. It has been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Aspergillus niger at concentrations of 0.5%. This compound also showed good antibacterial efficacy in water vapor byproducts.
