2,3-Dihydro-1H-inden-4-ol is a heterocyclic compound that is the product of the dehydrogenation reaction of aminoindane. It is also an intermediate in the synthesis of medicines and pharmaceuticals. 2,3-Dihydro-1H-inden-4-ol can be obtained by reacting hexane with an organic solvent. The yield and purity of this compound can be improved using chromatographic techniques. This molecule has been found to act as a ligand for some metals such as platinum, palladium, and nickel. 2,3-Dihydro-1H-inden-4-ol has also been found to have catalytic properties due to its reactive nature. This molecule shows a number of different nmr spectra when placed in different solvents. Its homologues include indanone and 5,6,7,8 tetrahydronaphthalene.
