Informação sobre produto
2,4-Dichloronicotinic acid is an acylating agent that is used to prepare esters or amides. It is synthesized by the reaction of 2,4-dichloroacetic acid and an alcohol in the presence of a base. The yield of this reaction can be increased by adding magnesium chloride to the reaction mixture. In addition, the activated 2,4-dichloronicotinic acid can be purified from hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide. This compound has been shown to inhibit plk1 activity in vitro, which is a protein involved in cell cycle progression through mitosis. The inhibition of plk1 prevents cells from entering mitosis and leads to apoptosis (cell death).
