2,6-Difluoro-4-methoxybenzylbromide is a benzamidine derivative that is used in the synthesis of other compounds. It can be synthesized from formaldehyde and pyridine. 2,6-Difluoro-4-methoxybenzylbromide has been shown to react with aldehydes to produce condensation products. This reaction was studied using cyclic voltammetry and correlated with polarographic constants and parameters. The reaction has also been shown to occur with paraformaldehyde and benzaldehyde. The product of this reaction is an aromatic compound that is related to benzamidine and paraformaldehyde.
