- 2,6-Dichloropyridine-4-Carbonitrile
- 2,6-Dichloro-4-cyanopyridine
2,6-Dichloroisonicotinonitrile is a chemical compound that is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis. It is most commonly used to catalyze the reductive coupling of chloromethanes with piperidine-4-carboxylic acid to produce 2,6-dichloropiperidine. The reaction rate can be optimized by altering the reaction time and temperature. 2,6-Dichloroisonicotinonitrile also has been shown to catalyze the reduction of acetylenic compounds such as trimethylsilylacetylene with palladium.
