4-Dibenzylamino-2-methylbenzo-aldehyde is a photoelectrochemical material that was synthesized by reacting benzaldehyde with 4,4′-dibenzylazobenzene. It has a characteristic absorption peak at 390 nm and shows fluorescence in the visible range. The photoinduced electron transfer from the electrode to the additive can be used to generate photocurrents. This material can also be used as an additive for metal oxide electrodes to produce high photocurrents.
