The low energy activation energies of this compound make it an excellent candidate for use in radiation therapy, as it can be easily activated by low levels of radiation and will not break down before reaching the target tissue. 3-(Diethylamino)-1-propanol also has inhibitory properties against other amines, such as histamine and acetylcholine.
