Descrição

1,4-Dicaffeoylquinic acid is a natural compound that inhibits the enzyme cinnamic acid 4-hydroxylase (CA4H). This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of cinnamic acid to 4-hydroxycinnamic acid and p-hydroxybenzoic acid. CA4H inhibition has been shown to lead to melanogenesis. 1,4-Dicaffeoylquinic acid has also been shown to inhibit fructan biosynthesis in C. glabrata. This agent is an analytical standard for caffeic acids, chlorogenic acids, and 3-o-caffeoylquinic acid.
