Descrição:2-((5,5-Dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-enyl)amino)benzoic acid (DMACBA) is a channel inhibitor that blocks the voltage-gated sodium channels in neurons. It has been shown to be effective against malignant brain tumors. DMACBA inhibits the conformational changes of the channel caused by glycols and microwave irradiation. It also stabilizes the open state of the channel, preventing it from closing again after being opened by an action potential. This agent is stable in water and forms dimers with benzoic acid. DMACBA binds to pyrimidine in DNA, inhibiting bacterial replication and transcription.
