Descrição:Olopatadine is a drug that belongs to the class of antihistamines. It is used to treat the itching, redness, and swelling caused by allergic conjunctivitis. Olopatadine has been studied in clinical trials that have shown it has minimal systemic absorption and little or no effect on hepatic function. N-Desmethyl olopatadine (NDP) is an active metabolite of olopatadine that inhibits histamine receptors in the eye and reduces inflammation. NDP causes less dryness of the eyes than olopatadine, which may make it more suitable for use in children.
