Descrição:Dichlorvos is a pesticide that has been used to control insects since the 1950s. It also has genotoxic activity and can induce oxidative injury in biological samples. Dichlorvos is an octyl phenol with a molecular weight of 228.3 g/mol, which is classified as a non-volatile solid. The insecticide has been shown to cause neuronal death and squamous cell carcinoma in mice. Dichlorvos may have some natural compound origins and it can be found in water vapor and chromatographic analysis. This chemical reacts with oxygen to form oxides, chloroform, carbon dioxide and hydrogen chloride gas. Dichlorvos is not stable at high temperatures or under ultraviolet light, so it must be stored in dark containers at low temperatures.
