3,3-Difluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride is a pharmacokinetic agent that is used for the treatment of diabetes. It is an inhibitor of dipeptidase and other peptidases, which are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller molecules. 3,3-Difluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride inhibits these enzymes and thus slows the breakdown of proteins in the body. This drug has a high oral bioavailability and is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. It also has a high selectivity for inhibition of dipeptidase over other types of peptidases, which may lead to fewer side effects. 3,3-Difluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride is soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents such as alcohol or acetone.
