N-[2,4-Difluoro-3-[[5-(3-pyridinyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-3-yl]phenyl]-2-propanesulfonamide (NVP) is a small molecule that has been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced metastatic colorectal cancer and melanoma. This drug inhibits autophagy by binding to the proton pump V0ATPase complex and preventing its activation. NVP also induces apoptosis by activating proapoptotic proteins such as Bax. NVP is not active against cells with mutant BRAF or c-jun mutations.
