Descrição:2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride is a chemical compound that is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and herbicides. It inhibits energy metabolism by binding to mitochondria at the level of the citric acid cycle and fatty acid oxidation. 2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride has been shown to inhibit breast cancer cell growth in vitro by decreasing cellular proliferation and inducing apoptosis. The mechanism of action may be due to inhibition of DNA synthesis through inhibition of RNA polymerase II activity. 2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride also inhibits proteasomal activity and has been shown to induce apoptosis via caspase 3 activation.
