Diphenylphosphinic chloride (DPPC) is an organophosphorus compound that reacts with hydrogen fluoride and sodium carbonate to form diphenyl sulfoxide. The x-ray crystal structures of DPPC have been studied by FT-IR spectroscopy. It has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of ischemia reperfusion injury, which may be due to its ability to inhibit chain reactions and transport properties. DPPC also has a hydroxyl group that can react with nitrogen atoms and phosphorus pentoxide, which are required for the formation of ATP in the brain. This mechanism is assisted by palladium-catalyzed coupling.
