2,6-dimethylpyrodine N-oxide is a phase equilibrium agent that is used in the formulation of pesticides. 2,6-dimethylpyrodine N-oxide has been shown to form ternary mixtures with hydrogen bond formation and x-ray crystal structures. It also has synergistic interactions with organic acids and intermolecular hydrogen bonding. This active compound also exhibits steric interactions with molecules to inhibit growth regulator activity and can be used as a deionizing agent. 2,6-Dimethylpyrodine N-oxide is used in the formulation of pesticides for controlling insects such as aphids and beetles. It has also been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties in CD1 mice by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
