• Descrição: N',N-Dibenzyl-ethylenediamine is an experimental antibiotic that belongs to the class of antimicrobial agents. It has shown high resistance to penicillin, but is not yet used clinically. N',N-Dibenzyl-ethylenediamine has been shown to exhibit antimicrobial activity against a number of bacterial strains including Streptococcus pyogenes and Escherichia coli. It inhibits the synthesis of proteins by binding to specific nucleotides in DNA, preventing transcription and replication. The mechanism of action of this compound is similar to that of cefapirin sodium and benzathine. N',N-Dibenzyl-ethylenediamine has been shown to be effective against a number of Gram negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, but is ineffective against Gram positive bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes or Staphylococcus aureus.
