3,4-Dimethoxyacetophenone is a high-value raw material that is used in the production of pluronic p123. The compound is synthesized by the cleavage products of acetophenone and methoxy groups, which are carbonyl group and acetylation. 3,4-Dimethoxyacetophenone can be used as a homogeneous catalyst for reactions involving methylene compounds. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the reaction mechanism of methylamine and ethylene oxide. Molecular modeling studies have also revealed that it can be used as a precursor for the synthesis of fluorinated derivatives for use in pharmaceuticals.
