Diphenyl-2-pyridylphosphine is a coordination compound that contains two pyridine rings. This compound forms an insoluble polymer when dissolved in a solvent such as trifluoroacetic acid. Diphenyl-2-pyridylphosphine has been shown to be a chelate ligand and binds to metal ions with high affinity, forming coordination compounds. It has been shown to have structural and photochemical properties that are different from other pyridine ligands. Diphenyl-2-pyridylphosphine also has nitrogen atoms that can be detected by nmr spectroscopy, which can be used for cycle analysis of the compound.
