It has been shown to react with cationic surfactants and esters in the presence of a film-forming polymer to form particles that can be used in a detergent composition. 2,4-Dimethyl-3-cyclohexenecarboxaldehyde also has the ability to create an active substance film on surfaces which can be used as an ingredient in microcapsules.
