• Descrição: 3,4-Dihydro-1H-quinoxalin-2-one (DHQ) is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme dihydroorotase, which is involved in the conversion of DHEA to testosterone. The optimum reaction conditions for DHQ are magnetic resonance spectroscopy and a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. It has been shown to have an effect on skeletal development and function in sciatic nerves. DHQ has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in animal studies and may be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. It is also being investigated as a potential chemotherapeutic agent for leukemia cells that lack the enzyme 5' nucleotidase.
