Dichloro(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)iridium(III) dimer (DCPI) is a synthetic ligand that can be used in biomolecular and chemical applications. DCPI has been shown to be stable in the presence of chloride, which is needed for many catalytic reactions. This compound has high activity as a transfer agent and is also able to transfer amines and cyclic compounds. DCPI can be used in fluorescence-based assays, due to its strong fluorescence emission.
