Descrição

Vortioxetine is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs called pharmacological agents. It is used for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Vortioxetine has been shown to have antidepressant effects in clinical trials, with statistically significant improvement in symptoms after 12 weeks of treatment. Vortioxetine has also been shown to be effective against depression-related symptoms such as sleep disturbances, appetite disturbance, and weight change. This drug binds selectively to 5-HT receptors and inhibits the activity of serotonin reuptake transporters on presynaptic neurons, thereby increasing serotonin concentrations in the brain.
