1,4-Difluorobenzene is a fluorocarbon with an ultraviolet absorption maximum at 266 nm. It has a proton elimination rate of 0.0043 and fluorescence properties that are sensitive to the presence of water vapor. 1,4-Difluorobenzene can be used in acylation reactions and hydrogenation reactions as a solvent due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds. 1,4-Difluorobenzene is chemically reactive and has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. The molecular ion peak for 1,4-difluorobenzene is at m/z 113 (M+H)+.
1,4-Difluorobenzene also has the chemical properties of a molecule containing carbon, hydrogen and fluorine atoms. This chemical ionization reaction yields an ion with a mass of 113 amu.
