Dithranol impurity D is an impurity of a monoclonal antibody. It is a chrysophanic acid ester that has been shown to inhibit the activity of toll-like receptor 4, which is a type of protein found on cells in the immune system. Dithranol impurity D also inhibits cancer cells and has been used as a control agent in experiments involving experimental models.
