Daidzein is a phytochemical that belongs to the group of flavonoid compounds. It has been shown to have pharmacological effects in animal models and human cell lines, such as anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and insulin resistance activities. Daidzein 7,4'-di-O-glucoside (D7G) can be used for the treatment of metabolic disorders and estrogen-related diseases. D7G binds to the receptor activity of estrogen receptors and interacts with insulin signaling pathways by inhibiting the protein kinase Akt (PI3K/Akt). D7G also has an effect on the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway that is related to insulin resistance.
