• Descrição: The 1-(2-Dimethylaminoethyl)-5-mercaptotetrazole (DMTT) is a nucleophilic molecule that has been studied extensively in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It is a potentiodynamic polarization agent, which is used to study the kinetics of redox reactions. The DMTT has also been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the oxidation of iodomethane to iodine and methanol. This chemical compound can also be used as a medicine due its virulent properties against cancer cells. The DMTT binds to polybenzimidazole and produces morphological changes in the polymer chains, which may be due to its ability to induce aggregation and crosslinking of polybenzimidazole chains. DMTT can also be used as a precursor for other molecules by reacting with polybenzimidazoles under certain conditions.
